What do I need to know about starting with Anthem?

So I just booted up the game on PC last night and wow, I’m going to like it.

But I also know this is a dead GaaS. So what does that actually mean? I see there is a marketplace still in some way and there are daily and weekly challenges.

What I really care about is playing the game solo and doing as much as I can. Is this possible for some one that isn’t a hardcore gamer? Are their things I’m going to miss out now there is no updates or large community?
