Why do so many players play as Marlton or Stuhlinger in Blackout?

Ever since I came back to this game a month ago I’ve noticed in the pre game lobby that at least half the players play as these two characters. Why? There’s so many characters to pick from. I can’t tell if it’s a default skin or a bot skin because usually if one of my teammates is wearing it they suck.
